Like a muddy brown oasis, but with ducks
One of the things I love about working in downtown Boston is the proximity to Boston Common. It’s a nice getaway in the middle of the city.
Today I had lunch by the Frog Pond, which during the summer is filled with cute little kids splashing around in knee-deep water. In the winter, the pond is frozen and turned into a skating rink. Today, however, it was filled with dirty brown water and ducks (who are probably partially responsible for the dirty brown water). It wasn’t the prettiest sight and the jackhammer noise from nearby construction site didn’t do much to lighten up the atmosphere, but as I sat there by the pond I couldn’t think of a better place to have my lunch.
I’m going to miss the Common if we end up moving to Cambridge.
